What a weekend! Our family at the Halloween Parade lit up the streets of Hollidaysburg and our family in Findlay ran into Barbie and Ken during their annual trick or treat outing. It is hard to believe that November is here! So many big things ahead before the holidays...

BATON BAG ORDER FORM

This is a must do class for our "comp" kids!

The two series of classes are running alongside one another.
Series 1 (Tuesdays from 5:30-6PM): Meant to build the CAS foundation from the ground up and get athletes knowledge on both compulsory and movement technique. It covers levels C -> BII.
Series 2 (Thursdays from 5:30-6PM): The second installment is meant to introduce higher levels of CAS, develop complex combinations, body technique, and covers levels A -> Elite.

Join in on Sunday nights with Natalie Weber for a 45-minute virtual stretching class. Cost is $10 paid via venmo @natalie-weber23.

TICKETS + TURKEY BOWL FUNDRAISER
On Sunday, Oct. 15, all present team members received 2 letters and an envelope.

The envelope includes 6 tickets that need to be sold and returned (stubs & money) at November's team practice (Nov. 11).
One of the papers explains the Ticket Fundraiser.
The other paper explains the Turkey Bowl Fundraiser we will be doing! More info to come on that!

If anyone wants extra tickets to sell, or if your twirler didn't get any and you would like some, send a text to Angela Champion at (724-454-3499) and she will get them to you!

Congratulations on a fantastic performance at Saturday's Halloween Parade. You certainly made us SHOWTWIRLER PROUD! We even made the news! So exciting!

REMINDER: Miss Pam is out of town on Thursday, Nov. 2. Thursday students may switch to Monday this week. This is completely optional! Class time is 6:45 p.m.

Winterfest Parade - Nov. 19

Date: Sunday, November 19
Start Time: 2:00 p.m.; report by 1:30 p.m.

The theme for the 2023 season is "Wish Upon A Star". All participants are encouraged to have a holiday theme with costumes, props, decorations, and/or music.

Spirit of Christmas Parade - Dec. 2

Date: Saturday, December 2
Start Time: 1:00 PM
The parade route is 9th Avenue & 17th Street to 12th Avenue to 12th Street to 11th Avenue & 16th Street
Location Information: Downtown Altoona

TEAM VIDEOS ON THE BAND APP
We have a large mix of ages and cell phone types. To accommodate, team videos will be placed on the "Band" app. This allows full length video posts and accommodates those athletes without a phone since they can download the app on a tablet, etc.

Recent NBTA/USTA Updates

Pan Pacific Cup entry deadline is Nov. 6, 2023 - The 2024 Pan Pacific Cup, coming up Jan. 18-21, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a great opportunity for U.S. athletes to experience international competition without the time and expense of traveling to a different continent. Entries are available on the USTA Member Portal under Events & Courses and the entry deadline is 11:59 PST on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023.
2023-2024 USTA RuleBook is Now Available - Visit the USTA Member Portal, click on Menu in the upper left corner, then select the Documents tile. Once you're in the Document library, click on the heading called "Document Title" and the documents will be sorted alphabetically by category: Board of Directors, Contest Resources, Judges Resources, Manuals, Music, and more! The 2023-2024 USTA Rule Book is under Manuals.
Watch for U.S. Trials information coming soon - The 2024 U.S. Trials will take place in March - dates and location to be announced soon! The U.S. World Team members will be selected (placed) at the U.S. Trials and NOT during the usual “Re-compete Medal Round” typically held at the National Championships. This is due to deadlines required by the IBTF in organizing the 2024 World Freestyle Championship in Sweden. In addition, any athlete, pair, or team that wishes to participate in the U.S. Trials will not be permitted to compete in any other qualifying competition that may be offered by other baton twirling organizations for the 2024 World Freestyle Championships. All US Team members and primary coaches MUST travel on the USTA Tour package. The U.S. Trials Manual will be posted soon, and the U.S. Trials entries will be available soon, both on the USTA Member Portal. Stay tuned! Please note: Due to an IBTF rule change, the time limits no longer include a 10-second leeway. Make sure to check the time limits for each event.

SHOWTWIRLER SALUTE OUR VETERANS PHOTOS - DUE NOV. 7
Each year we honor our service men and women through a post on our social media channels featuring our athletes holding their batons in the salute position. Please send your photos to PJ by Tuesday, Nov. 7 to be included. This takes a moment, but means a tremendous amount to those who have served. Photos can be sent to PJ at (814) 934-7575.
